Welcome to Active Joints Orthopedics
Sean Lager, M.D.
Dr. Lager joins us after completing his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, where he pursued his interests in arthroscopy and management of sports-related injuries for adults and children. Arthroscopic surgery is less invasive than traditional "open" techniques, and consequently, patients experience less pain, do not require overnight hospital stays, and regain function faster. Dr. Lager is the head team physician for the annual New York-New Jersey All-Star Classic high school football all-star game.
He was honored at the 2005 American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine annual meeting with the NCAA Award for his research on women's lacrosse injuries. Over the last five years he was the team physician for several high school and Division I College sports teams and and recently served as a member of the medical staff for NFL football and professional soccer teams.
Dr. Lager is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Lager was an orthopedic surgery resident at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lager will continue our practice's commitment to provide excellent patient care. You are certain to receive professional, compassionate, and comprehensive treatment. Same day or next day appointments, including Saturdays, are often available upon request.
